ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba congratulates to Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib who appointed as new AIBA R&J Commission member

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole ASBC management congratulates to Syria’s Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib who has been appointed as new member of the AIBA Refereeing & Judging Commission.

Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib was involved to the international boxing events in the second part of the 1970s as Referee & Judge and served the world’s boxing life in several Olympic Games, Asian Games, World Championships, World Combat Games and Asian Boxing Championships. He was elected as President of the Syrian Arab Boxing Association in 1986 and excluding a few years he holds that position until today.

He is member of the Syrian National Olympic Committee since 1986 and supported the developments of the country’s sport life in all areas. During his era, Syria claimed medals in the Olympic Games, Asian Games and many other big events. Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib worked as Supervisor in many international tournaments including the Pavlodar 2016 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and other Asian Championships.

Mr. Shbib led the ASBC Refereeing & Judging Commission Meeting as Acting Chairman in the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships in Tashkent in May 2017. The experienced official was appointed as Chairman of the ASBC Refereeing & Judging Commission once again in 2019.

Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib has been elected as Vice-President of the Syrian National Olympic Committee and Chairman of their Athletes Selection Committee in July 2020. The President of the Syrian Arab Boxing Association Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib increased all of the activities, seminars, national events and training camps in Syria during 2020 to get better results and build up a new generation of boxers in the country which has got excellent history.

The Chairman of the ASBC Refereeing & Judging Commission and the President of the Syrian Arab Boxing Association Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib was one of the instructors of their National R&J Seminar in the recent days and he arranged already two National Championships in 2021. Their next event will be the Elite National Boxing Championships in the first part of April.
