ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole Asian Boxing Family wish Happy Chinese New Year
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore the whole ASBC management and the Asian Boxing Family wish Happy Chinese New Year to all stakeholders, friends, boxers, coaches, officials, referees and judges and our followers throughout the whole continent.
Following the year of the Ox, 2022 is the Year of the Tiger according to the Chinese Zodiac, starting from February 1st 2022 and lasting until January 2023. The celebrations of the Chinese New Year last up to 16 days but only the first week, from January 31 until February 6 are considered as public holidays.
The Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays in China and has strongly influenced Lunar New Year celebrations of its 56 ethnic groups. It is also celebrated worldwide where there are significant Chinese populations such as in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Cambodia, the United States, Mauritius, Peru, Canada and in the European Union.
The Chinese New Year festival usually lasts for 16 days starting from the Chinese New Year’s Eve to the Lantern Festival. It is from February 15 until the end of the month in China in 2022. The standard public holiday for Mainland Chinese is the seven days from Chinese New Year’s Eve.
Chinese Lunar New Year activities starts as early as three weeks before the Chinese New Year’s Eve but a week before these celebrations are more usual. Traditional folk in mostly the rural region of China people starts cleaning their houses on the 23rd day of the 12th Lunar Month before New Year’s Eve. The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation wishes good health, prosperity, happiness, smile and all the best to the whole Chinese boxing community. China will be the host of the of the 2022 Asian Games in the city of Hangzhou and their boxers have been training with full speed to their home event.
