ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Sri Lanka’s Mr. Wickramasinghe’s family
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Mr. Raja Wickramasinghe’s family and the Sri Lankan sport community following their official died at the age of 83.
Mr. Raja M. Wickramasinghe was born on May 4 in 1936 who was a successful sportsman as discus and javelin thrower in the country claiming gold medals in their National Championships. He educated at the Richmond College in the city of Galle and served in the Sri Lankan Air Force parallel as his sport career.
Wing Commander Mr. Wickramasinghe was the chief of mission of the Sri Lankan team at the 1970 Asian Games which started his official career. He was Secretary General of the Sri Lankan National Olympic Committee twice during his life and supported the development of the South Asian country’s sport life.
