ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and ASBC management send their best wishes to the Turkmenistan Boxing Federation on their Independence Day

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore and the whole ASBC management are sending their best wishes to the Turkmenistan Boxing Federation and the Turkmen Boxing Family on their Independence Day.

The Turkmenistan Independence Day is celebrated on September 27 every year as national holiday commemorating the country’s independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 on this day. The Independence Day celebrates in all cities and regions in Turkmenistan with flag parades, cultural events, and patriotic songs.

The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and separated into 15 new independent nations including five Central Asians which strengthen our continent’s boxing life in the Asian Games and in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.

Turkmenistan achieved its first ever gold medal in the continental level at the Zhuhai 2009 ASBC Asian Men’s Elite Boxing Championships when Serdar Hudayberdiyev achieved the title of the lightweight (60kg) in China. Turkmenistan has qualified boxers to the last four editions of the boxing tournaments of the Olympic Games.

Their London 2012 Olympian Nursahat Pazzyyev achieved bronze medal at the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in the middleweight (75kg). Turkmenistan showed its amazing grassroots level in the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships where the country ranked No.5 and achieved two silver and two bronze medals. Alisher Orazbayev and Dovlet Nurmuradov were their silver medallists while Daniyar Rozmetov and Bogdan Konstantinov earned bronze medals in Kuwait City. The ASBC management wishes all the best to the Turkmen Boxing Family and great prosperity to achieve even better results in the upcoming international events. Turkmenistan progressed in the recent one decade and the number of the boxers are increased in all age groups in the Central Asian power.
