ASBC postpones the Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships

The Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) has decided on November 7 to postpone the Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships 2022 to next year.

The new date and venue will be announced and relayed to affiliated federations later as the ASBC works on the competition calendar and agendas for 2023.

Sulaymaniyah, Iraq was supposed to host the continental schoolboys and schoolgirls competition on November 27 to December 4.

It will be the second edition for the boys division of the tilt for 13 and 14-year-old boxers following the inaugural hosting in Kuwait back in 2019 while the girls category will take place for the first time.

The 14 weight classes for each gender in this age group were officially confirmed earlier this year.

Schoolboys will feature the 33-35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg, 70kg and +70kg divisions while schoolgirls will cover 31-33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg and +67kg classes.
