ASBC finalists as Ngo Ngoc Linh Chi and Ha Thi Linh earned their titles at the Vietnam Strong Teams Championships

The women’s elite finals delivered world-class contests at the Vietnam Strong Teams National Championships in Dak Lak Province.

Vietnam’s best female and male boxers competed from all regions and cities in this national competition where altogether 48 teams fought for the medals in Dak Lak.

Vietnam achieved its best results in women’s boxing in the recent 15 years including Asian titles, further medals in the ASBC Championships, World Elite medals, World Youth medals and Southeast Asian Games gold medals.

Their ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships in 2017 and SEA Games in 2022 as the host country, supported their rapid development in the sport.

Thai Binh’s Nguyen Thi Anh Thur claimed the first title in the women’s elite part of the National Championships after beating Vuong Thi Huong in the additional pinweight (45kg) category.

Ngo Ngoc Linh Chi achieved a silver medal in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships in Chiang Mai and the minimumweight (48kg) boxer defeated Hoang Ngoc Phuong Uyen to take her next national title.

An Giang’s duo such as Le Thi Bich Lien (52kg) and Nguyen Thi Kim Sang (54kg) had emerging victories over Nguyen Thi Thu and Huynh Thi Vu Duyen in their respective finals at the Strong Teams National Championships.

Hanoi’s Ngo Thi Mai Chuc moved up to the featherweight (57kg) since her last international appearance on December 2024 but she had the power to beat Nguyen Thanh Thi in the final before Do Thi Trang’s gold medal at the lightweight (60kg).

The ASBC Asian Championships silver medallist Ha Thi Linh is 32-year-old now but she has still strong targets in the international competitions. The Hanoi-based boxer had the technical and tactical advantage to beat An Giang’s Luong Thi Ngoan in the final bout.

The ASBC Asian Championships bronze medallist Hong Ngoc Mai has seven years of international routine which supported her success over Cai Thi Huyen of Hanoi at the light middleweight (70kg) final.

Binh Duong’s Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoai is a dominant boxer at the heavyweight (+81kg) in Vietnam and she bagged her next national title against Nguyen Thi Huong of Hanoi.
