ASBC Asian Women’s Champion Lin Yu Ting wins in the Chinese Taipei National University Boxing Championships

Chinese Taipei National University Boxing Championships was held for the elite women and men boxers in the city of Taouyan where 18 winners were celebrated their titles. Defending ASBC Asian Women’s Champion and their Rio 2016 Olympians as Chen Nien Chin and Lai Chu En won their weight classes in the event.
Chinese Taipei performed sensationally in the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships and their women’s boxing life turned into a new era when their National Federation hosted the AIBA Women’s Youth & Junior World Boxing Championships in Taipei three years ago.
In the absence of AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Pin Meng Chieh a new hope Wu Shu Fen was crowned at the women’s light flyweight (48kg). Wu, who was silver medallist in the 2017 Chinese Taipei National President’s Cup, moved down one category and defeated Lin Pei Fang in the final which was her first big national title. The gold medal of the flyweight (51kg) was captured by another silver medallist from the last national events, Lai Pin Hua.
AIBA Women’s Youth World Champion Lin Yu Ting impressed in the recent five years but she reached her career highlight at the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships with her gold medal. Lin attended at the bantamweight (54kg) in the national event and dominated her final against Cheng Hsu Fu.
Huang Hsiao Wen was silver medallist in the Taipei 2015 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships and took bronze at the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships. The 21-year-old talent was too quick for Shih Yi Chu in the final of the featherweight (57kg) and Huang’s long distance tactic paid off in Taouyan as well.
National Games silver medallist Lin Su Ting claimed the next gold medal in the Chinese Taipei National University Boxing Championships where she was able to find the weak points of her opponent, Ko Pei Chi in the final of the lightweight (60kg). Wu Shih Yi developed technically well in the recent two years and she had a big battle against China’s star Yang Wenlu in the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships which she lost but those experiences paid off in the final of the Taouyan event against Liu Chia Chun.
Lin Li Wei Hsien attended in the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships and her technique was enough to beat a dangerous rival AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Wu Pei Yi at the welterweight (69kg). The last gold medal in the female part of the national event was won by AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships bronze medallist and Rio 2016 Olympian Chen Nien Chin at the middleweight (75kg).
FISU University World Boxing Championships silver medallist Tu Po Wei is Chinese Taipei’s promising man boxer who dominated his light flyweight (49kg) final against Liao Yi Cheng in Taoyuan. Hsu Cheng Yu was quarter-finalist in the St. Petersburg 2016 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and the 19-year-old talent claimed the gold medal at the flyweight (52kg) after beating Lin Yi Min in the final.
ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships competitor Chen Po Yi impressed in the final of the bantamweight (56kg) where he was able to beat an international level boxer Kao Shih Yen with his strong combinations. Lai Chu En was Chinese Taipei’s first Olympian boxer in Rio de Janeiro after the 1996 Atlanta edition therefore Tsai Sung Lin was not a competitive rival for him in the final of the lightweight (60kg).
ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships competitor Huang Chao Cheng won the title of the light welterweight (64kg) in Taoyuan. Pan Hung Ming involved to the national elite team in 2016 and his tough punches were enough to beat Liang Yu Wei in his new category at the welterweight (69kg). Chinese Taipei’s 20-year-old strong international boxer Kan Chia Wei dominated the middleweight (75kg) in the national event.
