ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships – Best Youth Female Boxer – Abudureyimu Alimire

A new prodigy, Abudureyimu Alimire claimed China’s lone gold medal at the entire ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships. The Xinjiang-based boxer was named as the Best Youth Female Boxer of the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Astana and she reached her career highlight in this event.

The 17-year-old Abudureyimu Alimire has Kazakh origins and she lives in Western China, also knows as Almira Abduraimova. She trains mostly in the Xinjiang International Boxing Training Centre in Urumqi and she proved that she is one of the future stars in our sport.

She competed at the Ibraimov Prizes Women’s Youth Tournament in Almaty earlier this year and she won the international event with impressive victories. She defeated Anastasiya Timkina of Kazakhstan, and two Uzbeks, including star Oysha Toirova and Raykhona Kurbonboyeva in the final of the light middleweight (70kg).

Uzbekistan’s Oysha Toirova is one of the top stars in women’s youth boxing, the multiple Asian Champion was expected a hard semi-final against the Chinese Alimire Abudureyimu following their first meeting. The taller Chinese boxer surprised the Uzbek star in their light middleweight (70kg) semi-final which was Toirova’s second ever loss in her career. Abudureyimu was the second Chinese youth finalist in Astana where her opponent for the gold medal will be Kazakhstan’s Mariya Sidorenko.

Alimire Abudureyimu knew her Kazakh opponent, Mariya Sidorenko and she tried to use her strengths to make the difference in the first round of their light middleweight (70kg) final. The technician Abudureyimu had nice combinations in the first and second rounds from longer range against the aggressive local boxer. Sidorenko was not able to follow the Chinese girl in this contest, her footwork looked too slow therefore Abudureyimu celebrated her career highlight in Astana with an Asian title.

The Chinese girl could be the favourite also in the upcoming Youth World Boxing Championships which will be held later this year.
