ASBC Asian Champion Azat Usenaliev returns in the upcoming Kyrgyz Elite National Championships

The Elite National Boxing Championships of the Kyrgyz Republic will be starting on the 23rd of November and will be one of the highlights of the week. Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Champion Azat Usenaliev is planning to return in the National Championships after eight months of break in the competitions.

Kyrgyzstan’s Elite National Boxing Championships will be a selection tournament for the World Olympic Boxing Qualification Event which is scheduled to be held on June 2021. The Kyrgyz Boxing Federation is expecting the participation of around 100 boxers in the Elite National Championships.

Their men’s national elite team returned to their training camp in Bishkek in June where 11 top boxers prepared to the next goals. Head coach of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Daniyar Jusubaliev and Mr. Zhyldyzbek Niyazaliyev were the experienced trainers in the national training camp who arranged the schedule of the team in the first phase of the preparation. The second phase of their trainings was held in the Issyk-Kul region in the recent weeks to strengthen the boxers’ physical skills.

The Bishkek City Open Boxing Championships was Kyrgyzstan’s first national level event after the quarantine period in the first week of November. Kyrgyzstan’s native talent Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu won the most anticipated battle at the light heavyweight (81kg) over Rio 2016 Olympian Erkin Adylbek Uulu. The best performances were delivered by Sanzhar Seidakmatov, Rysbek Bektenov and Zhakshylyk Talaybekov in Bishkek.

Kyrgyzstan’s best male boxer, Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Champion and Jakarta 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist Azat Usenaliev missed the 2019 edition of the National Championships but he will be returning to the flyweight (52kg) in Bishkek. ASBC Asian Boxing Championships bronze medallist Mirlan Turkbay Uulu became the winner of the division one year ago and their contest could be one of the most anticipated one in the upcoming national event.

Almost all of the titleholders are planning to attend in the event where the featherweight (57kg), the lightweight (63kg), the middleweight (75kg) and the light heavyweight (81kg) will also strong enough besides to Usenaliev’s weight category.
