Aldamzharov and Mashkentayev on the lead at the Kostanay Coaches Tournament on Day4
Kazakhstan’s former youth national team members such as Bekzat Aldamzharov and Islam Mashkentayev impressed in the Kostanay Coaches Memorial Tournament on the fourth day of boxing.
Boxers who were born between 1984 and 2005 are eligible to attend in the Kostanay Coaches Tournament. The competition is staged in all of the 13 male weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) in Kostanay.
Kostanay is one of the most active boxing cities in Kazakhstan next to Astana, Atyrau, Shymkent, Almaty, Pavlodar and Aktau in the recent three years and the region developed rapidly due to their energetic leadership.
The Kostanay Coaches Tournament is an elite competition for the elite men boxers dedicated for the honoured trainers of the USSR and KazSSR. The competition remembers to Mr. Valeriy Nikulin, Mr. Vadim Gravitskiy, Mr. Mursal Tazhmakin, Mr. Vitaliy Levshin, Mr. Anton Kim and Mr. Sergey Skripnik.
Bekzat Aldamzharov lives and trains in the Aktobe region in Western Kazakhstan and the 21-year-old talent had a tough battle against Uzbekistan’s Kamronbek Mannopov at the flyweight (51kg). The Uzbek started their bout better in the first round but Aldamzharov stepped into the gas and he won the contest by RSC in the second.
Pavlodar region produced excellent boxers for Kazakhstan in the recent 10 years and their new young hope is Islam Mashkentayev, who represented the country in top youth competitions. The 19-year-old boxer moved up to the bantamweight (54kg) and he had a great finish to beat Astana’s Akhmet Azizov in the fourth competition day.
Yevgeniy Pavlov competed for Kazakhstan at the 2016 Youth World Boxing Championships and the tall boxer moved up from weight class to divisions in the recent years. Pavlov competed at the light welterweight (63.5kg) in Kostanay where he suffered a loss to a younger talent, Bekzat Makzhan on Day4.
Kazakhstan’s former Asian Junior Champion Yerassyl Yermek is one of the country’s top future hopes who returned to the events after a break. The 20-year-old light welterweight (63.5kg) boxer stopped Kyrgyzstan’s Chingis Sultanov in the previous stage of boxing and he bowed out of his way a teammate, Mukhametali Sydyk in the fourth session.
Sagynysh Zhuldyzkhan from the Karagandy region impressed in the light middleweight (71kg), he had a great success over Nursultan Teberov, stopping his opponent. Akmola region’s Meirbek Mukhtarov had a quick success against Kyrgyzstan’s Rafael Niyazov who injured in their super heavyweight (+92kg) meeting. Artem Pchelyakov trains in the Kostanay region and he had a well-known environment in the boxing hall which supported his success over Germany’s Cenk Yasin Acar at the light heavyweight (80kg). Astana’s Islam Betayev had a very difficult contest against the 19-year-old Viktor Litvinov in the next semi-final in this weight class but he succeeded in that bout by 2:1 split decision.
