A new initiative, the Macau Electronic Boxing Tournament was held with the participation of nearly 100 youngsters
Macau Boxing Association arranged its first and historic Electronic Boxing Tournament for their next generation of boxers in their capital city.
The Macau Electronic Boxing Tournament was not a traditional boxing event but a start to a new era and a milestone in the modern world. The electronic boxing devices measured each punch on the punching bags which was the base of the new specific tournament.
These new boxing devices can measure each punch, the speed, the accuracy, the power in real-time, and track all of the results. The competition is safe for all of the participants and the families of the participants and also the spectators can understand our sport better.
Nearly 100 schoolgirls and schoolboys participated in the inaugural Macau Electronic Boxing Tournament from eight different high schools. The enthusiast participants showcased their dedication to the sport and also enjoyed this new kind of boxing event.
The participants have been training in the Macau Boxing Association’s general gym and the competition was also held in that environment. The champions of each weight categories received medals and certificates for their dedication to our sport. The electronic boxing event was a strong marketing initiative in Macau to increase the popularity of the sport.
The engine of the Macau Boxing Association, Mr. Billy Vong arranged their Open Tournament this year twice, training programs, and the country competed also in smaller regional competitions as well.
Macau has strong plans in 2025 to participate in the Asian Boxing Championships, at the Greater Bay Area Championships, the Chinese National Games and arrange their Open Tournaments as well.
