A historic female bout and experienced winners at the ORX Boxing Dinner Show in Qatar
The Qatar Boxing Federation is active this year in comparison to the previous Covid-19 period and their new one-day long gala event took place in Doha a few days ago. The ORX Boxing Dinner Show was held in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Doha which had a strong marketing value next to the bouts.
The ORX Boxing & Fitness Club was the host of the competition which is one Doha’s boxing gyms and has the experience to arrange events. Altogether eleven contests were on the schedule of the ORX Boxing Dinner Show in Doha from the pinweight (46kg) up to the middleweight (75kg).
Doha was the host of the 2006 Asian Games and the busy city will organize the 2030 edition of the Games once again. The Qatar Boxing Federation and their top management built up a strong strategic plan to develop the sport in the country and in the region.
A historic female contest was also took place during the ORX Boxing Dinner Show which could be a start of a new era in Qatar’s boxing. Dana Dan represented the Qatar Boxing Federation in the event and she defeated a local boxer, Sonia Trichili at the women’s welterweight (66kg).
Ihsan Khan was bronze medallist at the annual Qatar National Beach Games but this time he was able to beat Badro Kaziro at the featherweight (57kg).
Marvin Ssali was one of the best boxers at the Qatar National Beach Games and he won his next event after beating Muhamadu Lubega at the lightweight (60kg).
Bravol Hassan Buyinza was also gold medallist in the last national event and he had the clear success over Sunday Matovu at the light welterweight (63.5kg).
Abdulhadi Al-Marri serves in the Army but he is Qatar’s best future boxing hope who has already a few international experiences from ASBC Championships. The 22-year-old boxer moved up to the welterweight (67kg) but he had the dominance against Chris Bejjani.
Ninja Vigor Boxing Club’s Desire Busulwa was silver medallist in his last national event which he switched into gold this time. Abdullah Al-Hadi had a quick success over another national team member, Saeed Nasser Al-Samikh at the middleweight (75kg).
