A 19-year-old talent, Anvar Khodzhiyev was named as the best boxer at the Bishkek Elite Championships
Kyrgyzstan is active in the boxing stage this year, the country hosted several competitions in the recent months to keep their athletes on the top. Their next competition was the Bishkek Elite Boxing Championships which is a traditional event hosting it annually in the capital city of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A super talented 19-year-old hope, Anvar Khodzhiyev was named as the best boxer of the Bishkek Elite Championships. Roslov Boxing Club’s trainer, Mr. Vladimir Roslov was named as the best coach of the competition. The competition supported the boxers from Bishkek to increase their experiences and the event was also a selection tournament for them.
Altogether 41 male boxers competed for the medals in the Bishkek Elite Championships where 12 champions have been crowned. The first gold medal of the Bishkek Elite Championships was taken by Youth National Champion Dzhenish Uldatov who is only 18 but has got already strong experiences from several events.
One of the most anticipated fights was held between Anvar Khodzhiyev of Roslov Boxing Club and Rakhmankul Avatov of Ak-Bars in the final of the flyweight (51kg). Khodzhiyev competed successfully at the 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Kielce and he was quicker than the former National Champion Avatov taking the title of the Bishkek Elite Championships.
Sanzhar Seidakmatov was the main favourite for the gold medal at the featherweight (57kg) but he was defeated by 19-year-old Baktybek Sadyrbek Uulu in the semi-finals. Following that success, Sadyrbek Uulu marched to the final of the weight class but he was knocked out by Zhenishbek Belasharov in the first round.
Ak-Bars’ Kalys Aliakbarov attended several events in the previous seven years and it supported his success at the lightweight (60kg) over Syimyk Altynbek Uulu. Challenger’s Kalmyrza Tursunbek Uulu was not the main favourite at the light welterweight (63.5kg) but he won the title after beating the more experienced Aidar Oroskulov.
The welterweight (67kg) was the busiest category with the participation of nine boxers and 20-year-old Mukhamed Kamalidinov crowned in Bishkek. Family Sport’s experienced Zhakshylyk Talaybekov delivered the second KO success in the finals, he proved his strength against Spartak’s Kanat Aralbekov at the light middleweight (71kg).
Ak-Bars’ Zhanay Zhakypov is only 19 but he had enough technical skills to beat older rivals as Bayaman Turabayev and Syrgak Abdyzhapar Uulu at the middleweight (75kg). Rio Olympian and ASBC Asian Boxing Championships bronze medallist Erkin Adylbek Uulu dominated the new cruiserweight (86kg) as expected while Bekbolsun Toktosun Uulu was too smart for his rivals at the super heavyweight (+91kg).
