Mr. Serik Konakbayev and ASBC wishes Happy Birthday to IOC President Dr. Thomas Bach
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev, furthermore the whole management of the Asian Boxing Confederation wishes Happy Birthday to the President of the International Olympic Committee Dr. Thomas Bach who has been working in this position since 2013.
Dr. Thomas Bach was born in Würzburg, Germany in 1953 and as a fencer he won a foil team gold at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games and another team title at the 1977 Fencing World Championships in Buenos Aires. Dr. Thomas Bach served as the President of the German Olympic Committee prior becoming the President of the International Olympic Committee.
Following his election as President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), he stated that he wished to amend the Olympic bidding process to make development for all of the NOCs. Tokyo received the right to host the 2020 Olympic Games four years ago which is most important for all of the Asian National Federations in boxing.
President of the International Olympic Committee Dr. Thomas Bach visited the finals and the closing ceremony of the 2015 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where the special guest of the Asian Boxing Confederation met with ASBC President Mr. Serik Konakbayev.
Dr. Thomas Bach brought new wave in the Olympic movement and amazing news for Asia’s boxing life he attended personally a boxing event, at the 2015 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships. Dr. Bach sent also his personal message in the Opening Ceremony of the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
