Mrs. Shelly Miranda – „I appreciate the work of my ITOs, officials, the LOC, the volunteers in my challenge in Ho Chi Minh City”

Mrs. Shelly Miranda of Indonesia worked as the Supervisor of the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships in Ho Chi Minh City and we asked her about the experiences and challenges of the competition.
Mrs. Shelly Miranda worked as an enthusiasm in Ho Chi Minh City and her strong commitment to boxing proved she has got all of the skills to officiate an AIBA World Boxing Championships as a Supervisor.
“The ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships was a big challenge for me, I tried to do my best with my team to the success of this important event. This was the very first time when I could officiate as a Supervisor in a continental event and every moment here in Vietnam was a great experience for me.
To be honest I did not think too much about my position during the competition, I just wanted to work with my best knowledge and solve all of the issues of the events. My ITO team worked well in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships in Ho Chi Minh City and I am proud of their attitude and skills.
Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate of Thailand was one of our debutant in Ho Chi Minh City who did not have an easy job as first as he had to handle all of the equipments and follow the AIBA rules. Used to be I managed this area as ITO in several big events and I know this is not as easy job as looks like. Mr. Yerzhan Zhunussov of Kazakhstan also worked well with us as our second debutant ITO and I am satisfied with his efforts in the event.
I really appreciate Mr. Pham Thanh Hai’s hard work from the local organizers before and during the whole competition, he was one of the engine of the success of the competition. I would like to say also a special thanks to ASBC’s official Ms. Ainur Ildebayeva who supported my job every day from the weigh-in until the end of the day. I appreciate the work of the Vietnamese volunteers, they were great and quick-learning in this competition.
I will be flying back to Jakarta and I will be attending in a meeting about next year’s Asian Games which will be our key event in 2018. Short after the meeting we will have Indonesian National Championships which is a selection event for our women and men elite boxers for the Asian Games.
My dream is to work in a female boxing event where all of the ITOs, officials and Referees & Judges who are working alongside me are women,” said Mrs. Shelly Miranda after the finals of the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships.
