Uzbek gold medal contenders in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa
The head coach of the Uzbek national team Mr. Hamid Tangribergenov selected 13 boxers to the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships which will be starting in Puerto Princesa on August 2. Uzbekistan’s top junior boxers such as Ruslan Abdullaev, Asadkhudja Muydinkhodjayev, Javlonbek Yuldashev, Asadbek Jumaniyazov, Madiyar Rejepov and Shokhrukh Almatov are among the gold medal contenders.
Uzbekistan hosted the last edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Tashkent two years ago where their talents achieved seven gold medals and topped the team rankings. Their squad is planning to repeat their performance in the new edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.
Namangan’s Mukhammadmuso Abdurakhmanov was successful at the 44kg in the recent months but he moved up to the 46kg to give himself chance to compete in the international level. The Uzbek head coach Mr. Hamid Tangribergenov selected him to fight in Puerto Princesa where he is among the medal contenders.
Tashkent region’s Ruslan Abdullaev will be turning to 15 only later this year but he won the Uzbek Junior National Championships this year He has been training with Sydney 2000 Olympic Games bronze medallist Rustam Saidov in the city of Chyrchyk and could be a sensation in the continental event.
Bukhara’s 16-year-old Amirbek Ibodullayev won the gold medal in the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup in Azerbaijan two months ago and proved amazing performance in the whole year. The flyweight (50kg) boxer is also medal contender in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.
Ferghana’s Asadkhudja Muydinkhodjayev is the most experienced Uzbek junior boxer who will be attending at the light bantamweight (52kg). He was member of the Uzbek junior national team in 2016 and won the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup, the Bekabad Junior Tournament and the Margilan International Junior Tournament.
Rakhmatullo Toshpulatov changed an experienced athlete in the squad Khayrulla Alimatov in the final minute in spite of the fact he claimed only silver medal in the Uzbek Junior National Championships. Andizhan’s Javlonbek Yuldashev is Uzbekistan’s best featherweight (57kg) boxer in the junior level despite of his bronze medal in their Junior National Championships. The 16-year-old boxer achieved silver medal in the Margilan International Junior Tournament and also in the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup.
Karakalpakstan’s 16-year-old Sherzod Kodirbayev won their Junior National title and will be selected to compete for Uzbekistan at the lightweight (60kg). Nurislom Ismoilov proved top performance in the Margilan International Junior Tournament and that event was enough for him to represent Uzbekistan at the light welterweight (63kg) in Puerto Princesa.
Asadbek Jumaniyazov lives and trains in the city of Urgench near to the boarder of Turkmenistan and did remarkable performance in the events of 2017. Khayotbek Bakhtiyorov replaced Junior National Champion Komiljon Yusupov in the team at the light middleweight (70kg) but he has got also enough experiences to do big things in Puerto Princesa.
Madiyar Rejepov won all of his contests in the current year and he is the main favourite of the middleweight (75kg) in the event. Kamronbek Rakhmonov involved to the Uzbek junior squad only in the final minute following he moved up to the light heavyweight (80kg). Shokhrukh Almatov won the gold medal in the Uzbek Junior National Championships following his successes in the schoolboy age group.
