Amir Hossein Dolati defended his throne in the Iranian Junior National Championships

The Iranian Junior National Championships was held in the city of Nahavan just before the start of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships. Amir Hossein Dolati was able to defend his title in the event in Nahavan and proved he is one of the best Iranian boxer in this age group.
The number of the male boxers was 134 in the Iranian Junior National Championships in Nahavan which shows the background is strong in the country. Boxers who were born in 2001 and 2002 were eligible to compete in the Iranian Junior National Championships where 13 champions have been crowned.
The pinweight (46kg) is the lowest category in the junior level of boxing where Sobhan Sahraei bagged the first gold medal in the Iranian Junior National Championships following his success against Pouria Abdolmaleki. The second gold medal of the Iranian Junior National Championships was taken by 15-year-old Balal Gurchani who was too smart for Saeed Ahmadi in the final of the light flyweight (48kg).
Iran’s new sensation at the flyweight (50kg) 16-year-old Mohsen Azizpour eliminated Junior National Championships silver medallist Shahriar Janati in the semi-final and continued his winning path against Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup competitor Abolfazl Hajizade in the final of the national event. Azizpour exceeded the previous expectations with his title and defeated two favourites in Nahavan.
The next gold medal at the light bantamweight (52kg) was achieved by Mobin Alaii who outpointed Ali Gholami in the final. The lightweight (60kg) delivered a great final between Mohammadreza Naghavi and Ali Dehbashi in the event and the judges were hard job to pick the winner of the bout. Naghavi gave in everything in the final round and his efforts were enough to get his first national title.
Amir Hossein Dolati claimed the gold medal at the light flyweight (48kg) one year ago but since then he moved up to the bantamweight (54kg) in the junior level. The 16-year-old top talent controlled all of his contests in the Iranian Junior National Champiosnhips including his final against Mohammad Hossein Ehsani while Junior National Championships silver medallist Amirhossein Alihoseini achieved only bronze this time.
The gold medal of the light welterweight (63kg) went to Abolfazl Amini who defeated Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup quarter-finalist Ashkan Salim in the final. Abdolhakim Bigdar competed in the last edition of the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan in June and those international experiences paid off in Nahavan where his skills were enough to dominate his final against Amir Mehdi Karimi.
Benjamin Kazemi also competed in the prestigious Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup in Azerbaijan two months ago as Bigdar and his jabs decided his final against Amir Mohammad Mousakhani who came from a boxing family. The final verdict was split decision and the younger Mousakhani also proved he could be expected bright future in our sport.
Alireza Seifi Barsemnani competed at the middleweight (75kg) in the 2016 edition of the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup in Baku and after one year in the junior level he was able to keep his category. The 16-year-old experienced Seifi had to meet with Reza Vaziri in the final of the Iranian Junior National Championships and secured his next title in Nahavan.
Iran has got always tough boxers in the light heavyweight (80kg) and heavyweight (+80kg) classes and the local crowd was able to watch and follow top bouts in these divisions. Amir Hossein Taleshi impressed the judges against Amirreza Mokhtar Rezaei in the twelfth final of the Iranian Junior National Championships while Siavash Bahardust was too strong for Saman Hosseini in the last bout of the whole competition.
