Astana Arlans Kazakhstan and the Uzbek Tigers advanced to the Play-off in the World Series of Boxing
The Group Stage of Season VII in the World Series of Boxing finished with six matches over the weekend and our three Asian teams have also attended on Week 12. Astana Arlans Kazakhstan defeated China Dragons 3-2 in Sanya while the Uzbek Tigers lost to Russia’s Patriot Boxing Team 3-2 in Perm. All of our franchises had to share their power between the WSB and to the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships but Astana Arlans Kazakhstan and the Uzbek Tigers advanced to the Play-off.
China Dragons vs. Astana Arlans Kazakhstan 2-3
Two-time WSB Team Champion Astana Arlans Kazakhstan won four WSB matches in the difficult Asian Group and their boxers were able to defeat China Dragons in Sanya in the last round of the Group phase. Astana Arlans Kazakhstan 5-1 record in the Regular Season meant the franchise topped the Group C and advanced to the Play-off.
China Dragons’ Zhang Guo was a newcomer in the franchise but his skills were enough to beat Kazakhstan’s Anvar Muzaparov who also made his debut in the World Series of Boxing in Sanya. China Dragons’ second success was delivered by their veteran Hu Richabilige who was fresh until the final bell against Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Aslanbek Shymbergenov which was a small surprise at the welterweight (69kg).
The Kazakhs won three bouts in their match in Sanya, the first one was acquired by Zakir Safiullin who won his 7th WSB bout in his career, this time he could beat China Dragons’ Wang Sen. Arman Rysbek continued his unbeaten series as he needed only one minute to knock out Wang Lida at the light heavyweight (81kg). Following his difficulties in the first two rounds National Champion Olzhas Bukayev was able to win his first WSB bout and the whole match for Astana Arlans Kazakhstan with his strength.

Patriot Boxing Team vs. Uzbek Tigers 3-2
The best Uzbek boxers have been preparing to the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships therefore Russia’s Patriot Boxing Team defeated the Uzbek Tigers 3-2 in the city of Perm. In spite of their loss the Uzbek Tigers advanced to the Play-off stage of Season VII and their squad will be there in the quarter-finals
Uzbekistan’s Abrorjon Kodirov won his previous WSB bout but his performance against Russia’s Viacheslav Tashkarakov was amazing at the flyweight (52kg) which he dominated against his rival. The second Uzbek success was achieved by former AIBA Junior World Champion Mirzobek Khasanov who moved up to the super heavyweight (+91kg) in the recent months and he was quicker than Russia’s current National Champion Artem Suslenkov.
The other three Uzbek boxers have done their debut in the World Series of Boxing in Perm and each of them produced good performance against top Russian rivals. Ulugbek Dusmuradov, National Championships silver medallist Odiljon Aslonov and 19-year-old Madiyar Saidrakhimov are inexperienced in the international level but each had chance to beat their Russian rivals and lost only narrowly in their debuting WSB contests.
