Kyrgyzstan began the preparation for the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Issyk-Kul

Kyrgyzstan’s best elite men boxers began their preparation for the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in their national training camp in Issyk-Kul off the coast of the picturesque lake. The first phase of the preparation will be finished on March 4 and following that the Kyrgyz squad will be competing in international events.
Tashkent will be the host of the next ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships at the very first time after 1999. Kyrgyzstan’s best ever performance was delivered by their boxers in Amman in 2013 when Azat Usenaliev achieved a historical gold medal while three of his teammates claimed bronze medals. The Kyrgyz team acquired one bronze medal in the last edition in Bangkok in 2015 therefore the boxers are ready to do better in Tashkent.
The head coach of the Kyrgyz national team Mr. Adylkan Bekbolotov selected 23 boxers to the training camp, all of the bests of the country are there. All of their four medallists from the 2013 Amman edition are still active boxers and attending in the training camp in Issyk-Kul as medal hopefuls of the Tashkent event.
Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Champion Azat Usenaliev could not qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games but he is getting ready for the quota hunt for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Kyrgyzstan’s Omurbek Malabekov was also medallist in the 2013 edition and since then he moved up to the lightweight (60kg).
Ermek Sakenov is the most experienced in the squad who also decided to continue his career and began the Olympic cycle changing his category to the welterweight (69kg). The fourth Kyrgyz medallist from the Amman edition, Sergei Parenko is also ready to get another podium place at the heavyweight (91kg) in Tashkent.
Erkin Adylbek Uulu was Kyrgyzstan’s lone Olympian in Rio de Janeiro and the light heavyweight (81kg) boxer was the flag bearer of the country in the Opening Ceremony. Adylbek Uulu was quarter-finalist in the Bangkok edition in 2015 and he has been training hard for his first Asian medal.
Kyrgyzstan has got two great options at the bantamweight (56kg), multiple international tournament winner Sirodjiddin Abdullaev and former WSB hope Mirbek Sherov who is the current National Champion. Mr. Adylkan Bekbolotov has got also great options at the light flyweight (49kg) where three boxers are in the same level: Mirlan Turkbay Uulu, 18-year-old Syrgak Dzhanseitov and Rakhmankul Avatov.
