Astana Arlans Kazakhstan returned with a great triumph over Azerbaijan Baku Fires

Astana Arlans Kazakhstan lost to the Uzbek Tigers in Tashkent last week but the strong franchise returned to the competition with a superb 3-2 triumph over Azerbaijan Baku Fires this evening. The titleholder franchise won their world class level match and kept their chances alive to get through to the Play-offs.
Azerbaijan Baku Fires defeated the current leader Uzbek Tigers 3-2 in their home match a few weeks ago in the difficult Group D but Astana Arlans Kazakhstan was able to defeat them once again. This away success was Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s second wins in the current Season VI while three of their matches are still scheduled.
ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships silver medallist Zakir Safiullin won the Team title in Season V and the Lightweight class (60 kg) boxer was able to win the opening match of the day. Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s pride had some warm moments in the first round against Azerbaijan’s young talent Nasraddin Mammadov but Safiullin turned up the heat and dominated the second part of their battle.
Current ASBC Asian Champion Olzhas Sattybayev was AIBA Cadet World Champion still back in 2005 and now he involved to the squad once again securing a triumph for Astana Arlans Kazakhstan. The 28-year-old experienced boxer dominated all of the rounds against Dagestan-born Magomed Ibiyev of Azerbaijan Baku Fires at the Flyweight class (52 kg) and achieved the second triumph for Astana Arlans Kazakhstan.
Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s WSB Team Champion Aslanbek Shymbergenov had height advantage against Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ Tamerlan Abdullayev but he could not show his best in the opening two rounds. The local fighter was successful in timing while Shymbergenov was able to adopt the level of the bout but his punches arrived too late and Abdullayev’s hand was raised after the final bell.
Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Nurdaulet Zharmanov has been fighting in the international level since 2006 but he is not an experienced WSB boxer yet. The 26-year-old boxer had longer reach than Belarusian Mikhail Dauhaliavets in their Light Heavyweight class (81 kg) bout which finished in the second round when Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ boxer injured. Zharmanov won the hectic contest after five minutes and Astana Arlans Kazakhstan the whole match.
In the final bout of their match was held between Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Nurzhan Bekzatov and Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ WSB star Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Super Heavyweight class (+91 kg). Makhmudov was too strong for the 24-year-old Kazakh boxer but the match was won by the Central Asians in Baku.
