The ASBC wishes the best for the new management of the Bangladesh Boxing Federation

The Asian Boxing Confederation wishes the best, prosperity and hard work for the new management of the Bangladesh Boxing Federation.
The Bangladesh National Sports Council appointed a new Ad Hoc Committee in the Bangladesh Boxing Federation in Dhaka.
The new President is Mr. Lt. Col. M. Latif Khan while the Vice-Presidents of the Federation are Mr. Mohamed Faruk Hossain and Mr. Mohamed Faizur Rahman Bhuiyan.
The Secretary General of the Bangladesh Boxing Federation, Mr. Quddus Khan will be supported by a Joint Secretary, Mr. Syed Mahiuddin Ahmed, while the Treasurer is Mr. Atikur Rahman Sajib.
Nine Board members have named in the Federation: Adv. Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, Mr. Mohamed Moksalin Ahmed, Mr. Meshkatul Islam, Major Mohamed Israful Ahmed, Mr. Mohamed Minhaz Uddin, Mr. Mohamed Jahiruddin Chowdhury, Mr. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Mr. M.A. Aziz Hiru and Mr. Al Amin Hossain. There are also four additional members in the Board from the Armed Forces and Police.
Bangladesh competed at the very first time in the Asian Boxing Championships in 1977 where Abdul Halim and Abdur Rauf Khan were able to get bronze medals. Following his gold at the 1985 South Asian Games, Mosharraf Hossain claimed their first medal in the history of the boxing events of the Asian Games in 1986.
Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka hosted the South Asian Games three-times in the past, firstly in 1985, secondly in 1993 and finally in 2010. Their boxers claimed one gold in 1985, another title which took by Moazzamul Haque at the flyweight (51kg) in the 1993 edition. Their highlight was the 2010 edition of the South Asian Games where the country was able to get two gold medals and a further silver in Dhaka.
Bangladesh competed with their best boxers in the Four Nations Invitational Tournament in Thimphu, Bhutan this year. Bangladesh has been preparing now for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships which will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on May 10-24.
