The IBA Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships starts with 14 bouts today

The new edition of the IBA Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships will start with 14 bouts in Nis, Serbia today.
Nis is the third largest city in Serbia with the population of 260,000 with its suburbs and the administrative center of the Nisava District. Nis is a historic city, built by the time of the Roman Empire and it has a fortress, memorial park, chapels, monuments and other important sightseeing.
The women’s boxers will be able to participate in all of the twelve official weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg) in Nis.
DPR Korea’s An Kum Byol is a new face in the elite national team but she won all of her recent national events to be the favourite against Venezuela’s Alondra Evimir Brito in the opening bout of the entire championships.
Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Champion Alua Balkybekova moved up to the light flyweight (50kg) in the previous one year and she is ready to earn at least a medal in Nis where her first opponent will be Kenya’s Veronica Mbithe
DPR Korea’s Won Un Gyong won the Junior World Boxing Championships in 2015 and after ten years of hard work, she can make her debut in the Elite World Boxing Championships. The DPR Korean boxer will be also meeting with a Venezuelan opponent as An Kum Byol, her first challenge will be against Krisandy Rios.
Tajikistan’s Shoira Zulkaynarova claimed three-times bronze medals in the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships since 2015 and she has more than 10 years of experience to make a big impact in Nis where she starts against South Africa’s Esona Peter at the lightweight (60kg).
Vietnam sent four female boxers to the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and their new talent in the national team Ngo Thi Mai Chuc will open her campaign against Ethiopia’s Milion Chefo Cherba at the lightweight (60kg).
Kazakhstan’s Yeldana Talipova defeated Uzbekistan’s Oltinoy Sotimboyeva in the final of the heavyweight (+81kg) in Chiang Mai three months ago and the two young stars will meet each other once again in Nis on Day1.
