Sixteen promotional contests were held at the Bahrain National Sports Day

Sixteen promotional contests were held at the Bahrain National Sports Day which was a huge support for our sport to increase its popularity in the developing country. His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Hamad Al Khalifa also visited the Bahrain National Sports Day’s boxing event.

The venue of the boxing event was the Sama Bay off the Dry Dock Highway and most of the age groups will compete in the Sports Day. All of the fans could enjoy the competition, the hard work of the boxers, referees, judges and coaches in this specific day.

Mr. Tony Davis from the UK, the head coach of the national team, is the engine of all boxing events, organization and development in the Western Asian country.

Bahrain hosted its first ever National Boxing Championships on June 2024 which was a strong effort from the country after their domestic boxing events and the impressive Royal Rumble gala series.

Bahrain’s schoolboy talents as Ichiro Okuyama from UFC and Bahrain Fighters’ Mohamed Herz won the bouts in the youngest age group. There were also four junior and four youth bouts during the Bahrain National Sports Day in the Sama Bay.

Rawan Rahman from the UFC won the lone female contest of the Bahrain National Sports Day, the youth featherweight (57kg) talent defeated BBF’s Cecilia Shaheen.

Fahad Al-Abdullah is one of the national team members in Bahrain and the elite lightweight (60kg) boxer was too smart for Kuwait’s Ali Al-Farsi in their exciting meeting which was the last in the session.

Ebrahim Alajmi is a new face in the elite competitions but he had the speed to beat Mohammed Saeed Ali winning their light welterweight (63.5kg) bout by split decision.

Abdullah Al-Abdullah had the routine to beat Bahrain Fighters’ Mohammad Sohaib at the elite light middleweight (71kg) and he proved one of the best performances.

Bader Moosa competed in the Domestic Boxing Event as well and his tight split decision success over Round One’s Ali Mahrooz.

 Elite 80kg: Midir Madan

 Elite 83kg: Bader Moosa
