Kyrgyzstan had a stronger competition day in La Nucia

Kyrgyzstan had a stronger competition day at the inaugural Boxam Tournament after their long travel to the Alicante region, Spain.
The competition period of the Boxam Elite Tournament is February 4-8 in La Nucia, Alicante region, Spain where 17 countries are participating for the titles. Altogether 166 female and male boxers are participating at the Boxam Tournament in the sunny Alicante region in La Nucia.
Kazakhstan’s Yernar Karap is one of their promising minimumweight (48kg) boxers who earned a few medals in the international stage as well. The 21-year-old boxer overcame Ukraine’s veteran Andriy Yefymovych in the attacks and he managed his pathway to the semi-finals of the category.
Kazakhstan’s next minimumweight (48kg) boxer, Nurzat Ongarov is not enough experienced in the international stage yet but he used the pre-training camp to develop all of his skills. The Kazakh boxer was not the favourite against Kyrgyzstan’s Strandja Memorial winner Anvarzhan Khodzhiyev but his strategy worked well today.
Kyrgyzstan’s two-time World Championships quarter-finalist Sanzhai Seidakmatov is a small boxer at the bantamweight (54kg) but he had the strong combinations against Ukraine’s Yelmir Nabiyev. The Kyrgyz boxer shocked his Ukrainian opponent in the middle of the bout and his dominance continued until the end of the quarter-final.
Kazakhstan’s Dulat Bekbauov had a warm-up in the first preliminary round and he invested more efforts to his next contest against Ukraine’s Elvin Aliyev. The two-time Asian Championships silver medallist Kazakh proved four-times better performance than in his first appearance in La Nucia and joined the last four.
Kyrgyzstan’s Ikhtiyar Nishonov competed at the 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Fujairah and he progressed well enough to be in the elite national team. The 21-year-old Kyrgyz had excellent start against Moldova’s Stefan Vozneacovschii and his first and second rounds were enough to win this welterweight (67kg) quarter-final.
China’s Xinjiang-based Tuohongdaji Aizihaier and Kyrgyzstan’s Bakyt Toktosun Uulu had a real battle at the heavyweight (92kg) in the evening part of the session. The Chinese boxer found the best angles in several exchanges and his performance guaranteed his place in the semi-finals of the Boxam Tournament.
