The Uzbekistan Elite National Championships is a selection competition for the main events in 2025 which looks another busy year for all of the boxers.

Mironshokh Norkosimov shined in the junior and youth Asian competitions in the previous years and he is one of the promising elites in Uzbekistan. He moved up to the featherweight (57kg) and opened his campaign with a RSC success over Asliddin Khusanov in Tashkent.

The Asian Youth Champion Abduvali Buriboyev had the same pathway in the past as Norkosimov and he is planning to make a strong breakthrough among the elite boxers. The young boxer eliminated Ilkhom Ergashev in a hectic contest and he marched to the next stage of boxing at the lightweight (60kg).

Tashkent’s Temur Abdurakhmonov and Samarkand’s Asliddin Bobokulov met in a crucial battle at the men’s welterweight (67kg) and both gave in everything to win their opener. Abdurakhmonov made a strong finish in this meeting and he won the bout by 3:2 split decision in one of the tightest contests of the first competition day.

Bukhara’s Javokhir Mekhriddinov was member of the Uzbek youth national team in 2024 but he suffered a loss to Andizhan’s Safarbek Abdumutalibov in the Round of 16 at the light heavyweight (80kg).

Namangan’s Rakhmatullo Boymatov achieved a silver medal in the 2022 Youth World Championships and he is a two-time Asian Youth Champion as well. The light heavyweight (80kg) boxer controlled most of the exchanges against Andizhan’s Shoyadbek Kholdarov and he won the bout by unanimous decision.

The former ASBC Asian Youth Champion Nurislom Ismoilov is one of the best boxers at the light heavyweight (80kg) and the Ferghana-based boxer started well in Tashkent. He not only controlled his contest against Javokhir Yuldashev but he knocked out his rival in the second round of their meeting.

Khalimjon Mamasoliyev claimed a fantastic gold medal at the 2024 Youth World Boxing Championships and he joined the elite age group this January. The Andizhan-based boxer was confident against Ferghana’s Ayubkhon Sultonkhudjayev and he finished the heavyweight (92kg) preliminary bout in the third round.
