The ASBC Asian Junior Champion Akhmadi Arvaz continued his winning path at the Abdymomunov Prizes Tournament

The male finals of the Abdymomunov Prizes Tournament were held in their capital city in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and the bouts delivered world-class battles.

The number of the boys were 173 in the youth competition in Bishkek where the light welterweight (63.5kg) had impressive number of 23 pugilists in action.

The boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008, had the right to participate in the Aybek Abdymomunov Prizes Tournament.

Mr. Aybek Abdymomunov was Kyrgyzstan’s first Junior World Champion in 2004 and he qualified also for the Athens Olympic Games on that year. 

Dzhalal-Abad region’s 16-year-old Erbol Nazarbayev claimed the first male title in Bishkek, he defeated Bakay Zhusupbekov by unanimous decision.

The two favourites such as Yasur Taalaybek Uulu and Talas region’s Kayrat Kalmuratov advanced to the final of the men’s flyweight (51kg) and the first won the title in an outstanding contest.

Bishkek’s 16-year-old Danil Budavkin defeated the favourites at the bantamweight (54kg) as Ruslan Zhusupov and Ilgiz Korgonbayev to take the title of the category.

The ASBC Asian Junior Champion and the Junior World Champion Amantur Dzhumayev moved up to the featherweight (57kg) in the previous weeks and he had the clear success over the Osh-based Abdullokh Sadykov in the final.

Erlan Ergeshov delivered the main sensation of the competition in Bishkek where he defeated the more experienced Alikhan Mayrambekov and Nurbolot Sultanov. Mukhammed Alimbekov had a tough but successful mission at the light welterweight (63.5kg) final against the ASBC medallist Dilerbek Sadirov.  

Akhmadi Arvaz is one of the biggest talents in Kyrgyzstan’s boxing life, the 16-year-old boxer was not only ASBC Asian Junior Champion this year but he earned the Best Asian Junior Boxer Trophy as well. Arvaz was too strong for all of his four rivals in the competition, he won all of his four contests by RSC in the first round.

Osh’s Mukhamed Abdumanapov (71kg), Bishkek’s Ramazan Isayev (75kg) and another local boy, Sadyr Rakhmanberdiyev all represented Kyrgyzstan several times in the international stage therefore they had the clear victories over their final opponents.

Bishkek’s Aziret Avtandilov (86kg), Omurbek Malabayev (92kg) and the 16-year-old Karim Imenkhodzhayev (+92kg) bagged the gold medals in the heaviest weight categories.
