Asian Champions as Yerassyl Yermek and Abdulaziz Abdurakhmonov dominated their contests at the Kostanay Coaches Tournament
The Kostanay Coaches Memorial Men’s Tournament is underway in Kazakhstan and the international elite competition delivered amazing battles between young U22 hopes in the first sessions.
Boxers who were born between 1984 and 2005 are eligible to attend in the Kostanay Coaches Tournament. The competition is staged in all of the 13 male weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) in Kostanay.
Kostanay is one of the most active boxing cities in Kazakhstan next to Astana, Atyrau, Shymkent, Almaty, Pavlodar and Aktau in the recent three years and the region developed rapidly due to their energetic leadership.
The Kostanay Coaches Tournament is an elite competition for the elite men boxers dedicated for the honoured trainers of the USSR and KazSSR. The competition remembers to Mr. Valeriy Nikulin, Mr. Vadim Gravitskiy, Mr. Mursal Tazhmakin, Mr. Vitaliy Levshin, Mr. Anton Kim and Mr. Sergey Skripnik.
Kazakhstan’s Asian Junior Champion Yerassyl Yermek had some injuries and difficulties in the recent two years but he returned in shape. The 20-year-old light welterweight (63.5kg) boxer was not only more prepared than Kyrgyzstan’s Chingis Sultanov but he stopped his rival in the first round with heavy shots.
Madiyar Taipakov is new in the elite competitions in Kazakhstan but he claimed a medal in the 2021 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. The 19-year-old talent moved up to the welterweight (67kg) and he had a hectic battle against Germany’s Eduardo Roberto Brandi Bajak but he managed the victory due to his last round.
Uzbekistan’s Bakhrom Davronov worked hard from the first seconds against Astana’s Azat Imanberli at the middleweight (75kg) and his multiple combinations decided their narrow contest in Kostanay. The next Uzbek boxer, Mukhammadumar Bakhramov lost to Astana’s Ibrakhim Betayev in the next amazing contest at the cruiserweight (86kg).
Germany sent a team for the Kostanay Coaches Tournament for the first time and their Kadu Kaidy looked fresh enough to beat Kostanay region’s former youth national boxer Artem Dzhozef Okara in their cruiserweight (86kg) meeting. Uzbekistan’s Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov is a super talented teenager who claimed two titles in the 2022 and 2023 editions of the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships. The 19-year-old boxer moved up to the heavyweight (92kg) and he impressed in Kostanay against Astana’s Bilyal Musayev, winning the bout unanimously.
