The mascots of the next 2026 Asian Games and Asian Para Games are unveiled

The official mascots of the 2026 Asian Games and the Asian Para Games both are unveiled and symbolize the fire and the water.

Aichi and Nagoya will be the host of the next Asian Games which will be taking place between September 19 and October 4 in 2026.

The Asian Games will return to the beautiful country of Japan after the Tokyo 1958 and the Hiroshima 1994 editions.

The mascot of the 2026 Asian Games unveiled which is a tiger-fish (Shachihoko), a symbol of Aichi-Nagoya, and its name is Honohon. It was born from passion and flame in the hearts of the participants who will compete in the 2026 Asian Games.

The mascot of the 2026 Asian Para Games symbolizes Aichi’s water systems, which is the counterpart of the fire-based mascot of the Asian Games, ‘Honohon’ which is based on fire. The design was made by illustrator Mr. Shinichi Kodama which also symbolizes the excitement for the Asian Para Games.

Boxing is one of the most traditional sports in the Asian Games and the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation have already visited and checked the competition venue and all of the facilities in Japan.  

The last edition of the Asian Games was held in Hangzhou, China and served also as the Asian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event for Paris 2024. China and Uzbekistan were the best nations in the last Asian Games which featured in September 2023.

The new management in the Federation and the Japanese national team have been preparing hard to the 2026 Asian Games and their next generation of U22 and youth boxers are in the world class.
