Farinoz Abdullayeva and Biloldzhon Iksanov are Tajikistan’s junior stars

The Tajikistan Junior National Championships was held in the city of Khorug in the Badakhshan region where 19 boxers earned their titles.

The Tajiks claimed two gold medals in the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates and the country moved into another level of boxing.

The female boxers were also able to join the competition and their new talents impressed the experts as well. The boxers from the 2008 and 2009 age groups were eligible to participate in the Tajikistan Junior National Championships.

Sughd region’s Ramziya Mamajonova won the first female title in the Junior National Championships following her success over Maryam Kholikova at the women’s pinweight (46kg). Another female talent from the Dzhavatkhon Sanginova dominated the final of the light flyweight (48kg) against Bashorat Shovaliyeva.

Farinoz Abdullayeva is the biggest Tajik female boxing talent since Mavzuna Chorieva, their bronze medallist from the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Dushanbe-based boxer used her long distance tactics and brilliant technical skills to beat Bibioysha Makhmudova and Sumaiya Safoyeva at the light bantamweight (52kg).

Dushanbe’s Azizjon Mamatkulov won the first title among the men boxers at the pinweight (46kg), he defeated Azamjon Khasanov in the final with his speed. The light flyweight (48kg) is always strong in Tajikistan and their Khatlon’s Sharifkhon Nuraliyev succeeded against strong national rivals as Bakhtovar Usmonov and Dzhakhongir Kamolov.

The Asian Junior Championships bronze medallist Mansurkhuja Muminov moved up to the flyweight (50kg) this year but the 16-year-old from Khudjand was exceptional in the final against Mukhammad Mirkhaydarov. Sughd region’s Amir Makhramov defeated a promising opponent from Bokhtar, Suradzh Noyobshoyev in the next final.

Biloldzhon Iksanov is Tajikistan’s next junior diamond, the Dushanbe-based boxer dominated all of his three contests at the bantamweight (54kg) including the final against Abubakr Kobilov from the Sughd region. Khatlon’s Abubakr Azizov defeated the main favourite, Ardasher Davlatov in the final of the featherweight (57kg).

Bokhtar’s Akhmadshokh Khoshimov (60kg) and Khatlon’s Umardzhon Asrorov (63kg) won the next two titles in Khorug. Khudjand’s Sorbondzhon Nuralizoda was the next key boxer in the Junior National Championships, he succeeded over Gayratsho Olimov of Khatlon at the welterweight (66kg).
