The 43rd Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament will start in Shymkent on September 29

The 43rd edition of the Karakozy Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament will be held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan between September 29 and October 4. The international competition could be a preparation event for the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships.
The region’s biggest city in South Kazakhstan was the host of the 2013 edition of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships.
The accommodation and meals are provided by the expense of the MPI Shymkent Professional Boxing Club during the Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament. The competition is open for all of the National Federations and one of the goals is to strengthen the relationship between Kazakhstan and the foreign countries.
Mr. Karakozy Abdaliyev was a Kazakh-Soviet soldier who was awarded to the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union in 1943 due to his brave actions in World War II. He was born in Shymkent and the city is proud of his hero therefore the Shymkent Boxing Federation was named its international competition after him.
Boxers who were born between 1984 and 2005 are eligible to attend in Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament. The competition will be staged in all of the 13 male weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) in Shymkent.
The last 42nd Karakozy Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament was held in South Kazakhstan, in Shymkent, short after the qualifying event for the Olympics, the Asian Games in October 2023. All of the 13 elite male weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) were involved to the competition schedule.
The Youth Olympic Games silver medallist Talgat Shayken returned to the competitions this year and he won the Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament one year ago. China’s Xinjiang-based duo such as Halimulati Rehemandu and Ashan Rezibieke earned gold medals in the heavier weight classes in 2023.
