Torekhan Kanatbay and Saidnabi Botirov met in the next battle between the super powers, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in this weight class. The Karagandy region’s Kanatbay used his longer reach and distance well enough to beat his neighbouring Uzbek opponent in Al Ain.

India’s Anmol Dahiya controlled all of the three rounds against Saudi Arabia’s Yusuf Kandil but his opponent was able to keep fighting until the last gong which showed his progress in our sport. Ukraine’s Dalintin Lukianenko, the 14-year-old talent from Kharkiv, used his longer hands effectively against Iran’s Alisan Gharagozlou Khomeji and he managed his way to the semi-finals in the last bout at the 64kg weight class.

Kazakhstan’s Mansur Amantay used a very simple strategy against Iraq’s Taqi Al-Kabaashi today due to his excellent speed and defensive skills. Amantay moved to right all the time and danced through the ring to find the best counter-attacking options and his southpaw stance was uncomfortable for the Iraqi 70kg boxer.
