Kazakhstan’s southpaw Doszhan Zhumakan joined the junior national team this January and he represented the country in an international event in Serbia this May. The 15-year-old talent was a bit nervous in the first round against Palestine’s Anas Abu Dayyeh therefore he needed to switch into a higher tempo in the second. The Kazakh dominated the second part of the bout and he managed his pathway to the quarter-finals at the flyweight (50kg).

Turkmenistan’s best junior boxer, Begench Kakamyradov moved up two weight categories this year and he was named also among the favourites at the flyweight (50kg). The 16-year-old Turkmen used his reach better than Thailand’s Siwa Chainarong and he had the advantage on the judges’ scorecards after two minutes. The Thai changed his rhythm in time in the beginning of the second round but Kakamyradov produced the better finish to win this fantastic contest.

Jordan’s Saad Al-Hadidi won the first contest at the light bantamweight (52kg), he had the stamina and the technical skills to beat Vietnam’s Nguyen Hai Dang. India’s Raveen met his neighbour Bangladesh’s Mohamed Ali Hassan Sumon in the next light bantamweight (52kg) contest of the evening session. Raveen’s right-handed hooks were always dangerous and he had the decisive punches in the third round.

Thailand’s Weeraphat Noksan eliminated a Kazakh boxer at the pinweight (46kg) earlier today and their Thongklam Nattaphumin had the same plan against Bekarys Adilbay at the light bantamweight (52kg).
