The Junior World Champion Amantur Dzhumayev was unstoppable at the Abdymomunov & Sabatarov Tournament

Kyrgyzstan’s next international competition was the Abdymomunov and Sabatarov Prizes Tournament in the city of Karakol. It is the largest city in the Issyk-Kul region which has picturesque view off the coast of the famous lake.

Kyrgyzstan’s Junior World Champion Amantur Dzhumayev was named as the Best Boxer of the competition while Uzbekistan’s Bekhruz Khamidov announced as the Best Loser of the event. An official from the Chui region, Mr. Ruslan Borgulov received the Best Referee & Judge trophy in Karakol.

Mr. Aibek Abdymomunov was Kyrgyzstan’s historic Junior World Champion in 2004 and he qualified for the Athens Olympics in that year as well.

The 2010 and 2011 born boxers competed among the schoolboys in the new edition of the Abdymomunov and Sabatarov Prizes Tournament. The 2006 and 2007 born boxers competed in the youth part of the competition.

The competition was a selection for the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships. Their schoolboys gave in everything in this competition to be selected for the upcoming Asian Championships which will feature in Al Ain.

The first winner in the competition was Bekhruz Alisherov of Uzbekistan who defeated a local boxer, Baybolot Shamansurov in the final of the smallest weight class.

Alinur Bakytbekov from Tokmak and Islam Nurbekov from the Issyk-Kul region continued their winning paths this year and both 14-year-old talents won the titles at the Abdymomunov and Sabatarov Prizes Tournament.

Uzbekistan made a strong impact in the schoolboys part of the international competition, their Mukhamzokhid Shukhratov was unstoppable for Yryskeldi Rasulov of Bishkek at the 43kg weight class.

Karakol’s and Kyrgyzstan’s top future star, Amantur Dzhumayev, the Junior World Champion and the Asian Junior gold medallist amazed once again and he enjoyed the competition in his home city. The 17-year-old boxer defeated Uzbekistan’s Mukhammad Rustamov in the final of the youth bantamweight (54kg) with impressive performance.

Kazakhstan’s lone gold medal was achieved by Aldiyar Malikomar at the youth cruiserweight (86kg) while Erlan Ergeshov (57kg) and Mukhammed Alimbekov (67kg) were the further notable winners in the youth competition.

 Youth 54kg: Amantur Dzhumayev, Kyrgyzstan

 Youth 57kg: Erlan Ergeshov, Kyrgyzstan

 Youth 60kg: Alikhan Mairambekov, Kyrgyzstan

 Youth 67kg: Mukhammed Alimbekov, Kyrgyzstan
