The review of the Saudi Arabian Women’s Open Tournament

The Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation made strong efforts in the previous months to build up their full system from the competitions to the management parts.

Following their regional competitions, the Saudi Arabian Women’s Open Tournament featured in the city of Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia is looking for several coaches to develop their regions and the skills of their boxers, the selection process is still running for that.

The Saudi Arabian female boxers competed and earned a few medals for the very first time in the 2023 edition of the Arab Sports Games.

The schoolgirls, who were born in 2010 and in 2011, were able to compete in six weight categories in the Open Tournament.

Their best junior talents from the 2008 and 2009 age groups, participated in five different weight classes in the event. For the schoolgirls and juniors, the competition was a preparation event before the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships.

Their 2006 and 2007 born girls took place in the youth age group in Riyadh where seven champions have been crowned after the finals.

The elite boxers could compete from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg) in all of the 12 official divisions. The Saudi Arabians sent three female and nine male boxers to the 2nd World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event to Bangkok to increase the international experience of their athletes.
