The Junior World Champion Amantur Dzhumayev was the best boxer at the Kyrgyzstan Youth National Championships

Kyrgyzstan arranged its next competition, the Youth National Championships in the capital city in Bishkek which was a four-days long event. Kyrgyzstan’s Junior World Champion Amantur Dzhumayev became the Best Boxer of the competition, Samagan Kochorbay Uulu is the Best Coach while Murat Kurmanov the Best Referee & Judge.

The event was a selection competition before the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships and the winners have strong chance to compete in Astana later this month. Boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007, were eligible to participate in the Kyrgyzstan Youth National Championships.

Altogether 14 female and 140 male boxers competed for the medals at the Kyrgyzstan Youth National Championships in Bishkek. The number of the referees was 27 in the competition which saw several quality boxers and excellent fights.

Bishkek’s Aysezim Kushubekova has international experience and that paid off in the final of the flyweight against Zhainagul Manasova. Alina Sizonenko won national events in the previous years and she remained on the top of the podium at the bantamweight (54kg) after stopping Nurkyz Myrzabekova.

Chui region’s Medina Abyldayeva is member of the national team since 2021 and she stopped all of her opponents defending her throne at the featherweight (57kg). Batken’s Zarina Kurbanova (60kg) and Dzhalal-Abad’s Aruuke Kamytbekova (63kg) won the remaining female titles in Bishkek.

Yasur Taalaybek Uulu won the first male title in the Youth National Championships, he triumphed over Nursultan Asanakunov at the minimumweight (48kg). Zafarbek Kamilov won several international tournaments and he is one of the aces in the youth national team but he had to do his very best against two tough rivals at the flyweight (51kg) such as Kairat Kalmuratov and Momun Ybyraimankunov.

Amantur Dzhumayev won Kyrgyzstan’s first Asian junior title in 2023 and he bagged their historic gold medals at the Junior World Boxing Championships as well. He joined the youth age group this January and he was unstoppable for all of his four bantamweight (54kg) opponents in Bishkek.

Talas’ Nurbol Sultanov and Erlan Ergeshov met in a dream featherweight (57kg) final and the first was able to take the title following his 3:2 split decision success. Chui region’s Junior World Championships bronze medallist Dilerbek Sadirov is new in the youth age group but he destroyed Dastan Bekboyev at the lightweight (60kg) final.

Bektur Turdubayev came from a boxing family and he had the skills to beat Oomatbek Belekbayev at the light welterweight (63.5kg). Ramzan Kadyrov won a narrow welterweight (67kg) final against Bishkek’s Urmat Mirov while Bekmyrza Abdukadirov caused a surprise with his success over Ramazan Isayev.

Mukhammadaziz Zakirov (80kg), Azim Choybekov (86kg), Tynystan Alybayev (92kg) and Myrzakir Koshaliyev (+92kg) all had the international routine to win their weight classes.
