The registrations are still open for the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships

The registrations for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships are in still in open in the IBA Database. The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation asks all of the affiliated National Federations to register their boxers officially in the Database and fill the visa requests forms.

The first continental event of the year, the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan from April 25 until May 8 and the registrations are open for all of the affiliated Asian National Federations.

The maximum number of the participating boxers is 50 in the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships and among the big powers, India is planning to cover all of the weight classes in Astana. Kyrgyzstan plans to send boxers in all of the U22 and youth male weight categories to hunt for gold medals in Astana.

Saudi Arabia confirmed the participation of two female boxers in the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships. Sri Lanka informed the ASBC officials about the participation of their four talents in Astana. Iran, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Vietnam and Singapore will send record number of boxers to the first Asian Championships of the year.

The national selection tournaments in several Asian countries are in progress or still will be held in the upcoming days. There were international preparation tournaments in Kazakhstan, in Montenegro, in Romania and in other counties prior this huge championship.

The Asian Boxing Confederation decided to host the competition for these two age groups in one location together to save costs for the National Federations. The competition will be 2-weeks-long in Astana and both genders will be able to participate as in the previous editions.

The ASBC Asian U22 and Youth Boxing Championships will open in Kazakhstan’s capital in Astana on April 25 with the arrivals of the delegations. The first competition day of the ASBC Asian U22 and Youth Boxing Championships will be on April 27 while the finals are scheduled to be hosted on May 6 and 7 after the rest day.

The 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 born boxers will be able to compete at the U22 age group in Astana, Kazakhstan. Boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007 will be eligible to participate in the youth age group in this specific continental event. The women’s will be able to compete in the U22 and youth age groups in the following weight categories: 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg. The men’s weight categories in both age groups will be the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg.
