ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira and the ASBC management send their best wishes to the National Federations during the Nowruz celebrations
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, furthermore the whole ASBC management are sending their best wishes to the Asian countries during the Nowruz celebrations. The ASBC staff wishes prosperity, good health, happiness and strong boxing results for the Asian National Federations.
Nowruz is also known as the Persian New Year, which begins on the spring equinox, marking the first day of Farvardin, the first month of the Iranian solar calendar. Nowruz has Iranian origins but it spreads in Western Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, the Caucasian region and also in the Balkans in the recent 3,000 years.
Nowruz marks the beginning of the spring in the Northern Hemisphere and it is a holiday in most of these regions. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are also celebrating the start of the spring with great celebrations. Nowruz is celebrated also in Iraq, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia and Turkey. Cleaning the house is commonly done before the arrival of the Nowruz celebrations, buying new clothes and purchase flowers are popular. People are expected to make short visits to the homes of family, friends and neighbours during the Nowruz holidays.
