Bangladesh and Bhutan strengthened their ties with a dual match

Bangladesh and Bhutan both are developing boxing countries in the Asian continent and the two nations strengthened their ties in the previous weeks.
Bhutan sent their two top boxers to the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event to Busto Arsizio, Italy while Bangladesh’s best female talent is competing at the Belgrade Winner Tournament this week.
Bhutan’s youth national team trained in Bangladesh following the invitation of the South Asian country and the sessions took place at the BKSP Institute of Sport together with the local boxers. Bhutan’s best twelve youth talents including five female hopefuls were in the training camp in Bangladesh with the leading of two coaches.
Mr. Mazharul Islam, the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Boxing Federation, was the Chief Guest of the Joint BKSP Bangladesh and Bhutan youth training camp which contained physical and tactical sessions as well.
Following the training camp, the two nations arranged a specific friendly encounter, a dual match which had five female and eight male contests in the BKSP Institute of Sport.
Bangladesh’s Antara Akhter Bristi won the first female contest, she defeated Bhutan’s Nima Wangmo at the women’s flyweight (52kg). Bhutan’s best female boxer in this age group, Kinga Wangmo triumphed over Bangladesh’s Onita Islam at the women’s lightweight (60kg) which was one of the best women’s contests in the encounter.
Bhutan’s Chimi Wangmo defeated the local talent, Tanzila at the women’s bantamweight (54kg) and her teammates as Norbu Dema and Zigdal Zangmo also succeeded against their counterparts, Shamima Akhter and Rotna Akhter at the featherweight (57kg). Among the local boys, Ali Hasan Suman (54kg), Mohamed Fahim (54kg), Mohamed Ramjan Mir (57kg), Nayan Tripura (60kg), and Mohamed Turkan Karim (63.5kg) won their contests in the dual match. Bhutan’s best male boxers, Kinley Phuntsho (52kg), Karma Phuntsho (57kg) and Karma Wangchuk (60kg) all won their contests in Bangladesh.
