Bahrain, India, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Philippines, Thailand and Uzbekistan are participating Asians in the Spanish International Training Camp

Eight Asian countries are working hard in Spain’s next international training camp in the Alicante region in the upcoming weeks.

After the Boxam Elite Tournament, a joint international training camp are holding in Spain until February 28 which is a preparation for all teams to the upcoming 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.

The training camp will take place in La Nucia, in the same venue as the Boxam Tournament, and the possibilities are well-known for the all of the teams. The accommodation will be also in the same place as during the Boxam Tournament, in the city of Benidorm.

The Technical Meeting of Spanish International Training Camp was held on Monday and all of the camp rules, the schedule, the timing, the sparring sessions have been introduced to the participating delegations.

The joint camp contains physical trainings, track and running preparations, and most importantly sparring sessions between the teams. According to the Technical Meeting, the Sundays are rest periods for the teams during the training camp.

Altogether 142 strong boxers from three Confederations, furthermore 81 coaches, delegation members, Physiotherapeutist and medical staff members are there in the 24-days-long international training camp.

Bahrain, India, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Netherlands, Palestine, the Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, host Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, and Uzbekistan are attending in the Spanish International Training Camp.

Turkey and the Netherlands arrived to Spain short after the Boxam Elite Tournament on February 4, while Team Jordan is expected to join to the training camp on the 10th.

Some of the teams will join from February 15 to the camp such as Sweden, Puerto Rico, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The two Central Asian boxing powers competed successfully in the recent Boxam Elite Tournament, earning gold medals in the event.

Several World Champions, medallists from the Olympic Games, top boxers from European, American and Asian Boxing Championships are preparing for their next objectives in this training camp in Spain.

Thailand’s best male boxers including Thitisan Panmot, Sarawut Sukthet, Somchay Wongsuwan, Khunatip Pidnuch, Bunjong Sinsiri, and Atichai Phoemsap are all attending in the training camp. Philippines amazed in the Boxam Elite Tournament and their four gold medallists of the event are working also hard in La Nucia. Their Asian Championships silver medallist John Marvin (92kg) recovered from his injury and joined the training camp in Spain this week.
