India’s Manju Bamboriya looked confident against France’s World Championships bronze medallist Fatia Benmessahel and she was favoured on the scorecards after three minutes. The Indian welterweight (66kg) boxer shared her power well enough in this contest and she eliminated a top French.

Kazakhstan’s Anel Sakysh is new in their elite national team but the 21-year-old bantamweight (54kg) boxer is ready to do big things in 2024. The young talent was smarter than Ireland’s Nicole Clyde and she had the strong advantage on the judges’ scorecards after six minutes of fight. Sakysh used her speedy attacks well enough in all of the three rounds to start her campaign with a success.

Philippines’ Olympic Games silver medallist Carlo Paalam moved up to the featherweight (57kg) a few months ago and he adopted the strength of the punches quickly. The 25-year-old Asian Champion controlled the first round against Mexico’s Miguel Fernando Vega and he worked hard to beat a qualified opponent by 4:1 split decision in La Nucia.

Uzbekistan’s defending Elite World Champion at the light welterweight (63.5kg), Ruslan Abdullayev, made a warm-up in the first preliminary round in the Boxam Tournament. The 21-year-old boxer dominated his contest against Portugal’s David Duarte but saved almost all of his fuel for the later actions.

Kyrgyzstan’s Asian Championships bronze medallist Nuradin Rustambek Uulu maintained the best fighting distance quickly in the first round against Belgium’s Jonathan Oniemba Kenge and he had the clear advantage after three minutes. The referee counted the Belgian once which supported the 22-year-old Kyrgyz boxer’s clear success in La Nucia.

His teammate, Syrgak Abdyzhapar Uulu also won his fight at the same light middleweight (71kg), he bowed out Italy’s Gabriele Guidi Rontani.

Uzbekistan’s welterweight (67kg) World Champion Asadkhudja Muydinkhudjayev competes at the light middleweight (71kg) now and he dominated his opener against Romania’s Marcel Nistreanu. His teammate in the same strong weight class, the Andizhan-based Khavasbek Asadullayev bowed out Italy’s Salvatore Cavallaro winning the bout unanimously. The Uzbeks finished the day amazingly as their Asian U22 Champion Jasurbek Yuldashev defeated Kyrgyzstan’s three-time Asian medallist veteran Erkin Adylbek Uulu.
