Five Asian Champions earned gold medals at the Uzbekistan Women’s Youth National Championships

The Uzbekistan Women’s Youth National Championships was held in the city of Istykhan at the Samarkand region which opened the year for the boxing power. Five of the ASBC Asian Junior or Youth Champions claimed gold medals in the opener of the year.

The 2006 and 2007 born boxers were eligible to compete in the Youth Nationals in a new location where 94 talents participated for the 12 gold medals.

Boxers from the Ferghana region earned four gold medals in the event topping the medal standings. Samarkand region and Bukhara region both claimed two titles in the Uzbekistan Women’s Youth National Championships.

Dzhizak’s Jasmin Tokhirova, the ASBC Asian Junior Champion from 2022, won the first title in the national event, she defeated Ismigul Komilova of Ferghana by unanimous decision at the women’s minimumweight (48kg).

Ferghana’s Zilolakhon Yusufova earned a gold medal at the recent Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Astana which was her second ASBC title. The 17-year-old talent controlled her contests at the flyweight (52kg) including the final against Muslima Turgunova.

The ASBC Asian Junior Champion Uzukjamol Yunusova, the silver medallist from the last Asian Youth Championships, controlled the bantamweight (54kg) in Istykhan where she triumphed over Mushtariybonu Rustamova in the final.

Bukhara’s Feruza Sharipova won a tough category, the featherweight (57kg) in the event after her success over Diyorakhon Soyibova. Odinakhon Ismoilova moved up one category to the light welterweight (63kg) since her silver medal at the Asian Youth Championships, but she managed to beat Umida Shamsiyeva at the final.

Samarkand’s Rukhshona Shakarova joined the youth age group this January and she moved up two categories to the welterweight (66kg). The 16-year-old Asian Junior bronze medallist won all of her four contests in the Nationals with confident style of boxing.

Oysha Toirova is the real star of this age group in Uzbekistan, she is already three-time Asian Champion at the age of 17. Ferghana region’s pride outpointed her final opponent, Raykhona Kurbonboyeva and she remained on the top at the light middleweight (70kg).

Sanobar Bozorboyeva bagged a silver medal in the Asian Youth Championships in Astana, therefore she was too strong for her rivals at the middleweight (75kg). Sobirakhon Shakhobiddinova, the two-time ASBC Asian Junior Champion, joined the youth events only this January but she was different level in the heaviest weight class.
