The Vietnam Boxing Federation presented their National Calendar for 2024
The management of the Vietnam Boxing Federation launched their 2024 national boxing calendar and the country is ready to participate in several international competitions this year.
Their first important competition, the Vietnam National Club Boxing Championships will be held in the city of Dak Lak on April where all of their top elite and youth athletes are planning to participate.
The Vietnam Youth & Junior National Boxing Championships will take place in the middle part of the country in Quang Ngai on July just before the Olympic Games.
The next Vietnam Women’s & Men’s Elite National Boxing Championships will feature in Can Tho Province on September after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, marking the new era in the beginning of the cycle.
Vietnam had a big impact in the sport when the country hosted the ASBC Asian Women’s Elite Boxing Championships in Ho Chi Minh City six years ago. The Vietnam Boxing Federation had a presidential election a few months ago and they have new facilities in Ho Chi Minh City to develop their high performance team.
Vietnam did not qualify to any boxers to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games yet but the strong Southeast Asian country is ready to impress in the upcoming two competitions. Nine of their boxers participated in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China three months ago and among them, Luu Diem Quynh earned a bronze medal at the women’s middleweight (75kg).
The last 2023 edition of the Vietnam Elite National Championships was a selection event for the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which will be held in Busto Arsizio, Italy from February 29, 2024. Vietnam plans to participate in both of the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Events in Italy and in Thailand with bigger delegations.
