ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira and the ASBC management congratulate to the new President in South Korea
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand, furthermore the whole ASBC Management congratulates to the new President in the Boxing Association of Korea, Mr. Chang-Woong Choi who has been elected in the beginning of the new year.
Mr. Chan-Woong Choi is the 23rd President in South Korea’s boxing life which country had three champions and altogether 20 medallists in the history of the Olympic Games. The Presidential elections were held at the Seoul Olympic Parktel where all of the regions and main stakeholders presented the meeting sessions.
Mr. Chan-Woong Choi is the President of the City Construction Co. Ltd and he was involved to boxing as an official in 2001. He became the President of the Ulsan Regional Boxing Association and hold that position in the previous period.
South Korea competed in all of the major championships in 2023 including at the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships where the country earned a lot of medals. Their female team delivered world-class results in the previous years and their boxers are aiming for spots for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira believes that South Korea will be one of the new leaders in Asia and Mr. Chan-Woong Choi will arrange new events and development in his country’s boxing life.
