The super strong Uzbekistan National Championships opened with its first competition day

The Uzbekistan National Championships has started for their elite boxers in Tashkent where 25 champions will be crowned after all competition days.

The Uzbekistan Elite National Championships will serve as the main selection competition in nine weight categories for the upcoming 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which will be starting in Busto Arsizio, Italy on February 29.

Uzbekistan’s 20-year-old Nigina Uktamova (54kg) has already qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and three of their male stars also secured their spots through the Asian Games. The Olympic Champions as Hasanboy Dusmatov (51kg) and Bakhodir Jalolov (+92kg), furthermore one of the best boxers in the entire world, Abdumalik Khalokov (57kg) are their quota holders for Paris.

The elite female boxers can participate in the 12 official weight categories at the 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg.

The elite male boxers will be able to compete at the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg weight categories.

ASBC Asian Champions in various age groups as Sabina Bobokulova, Feruza Kazakova, Robiyakhon Bakhtiyorova and Gulsevar Ganiyeva all will compete for the title of the women’s light flyweight (50kg) in the Nationals.

The defending World Champion at the men’s light welterweight (63.5kg), Ruslan Abdullayev could be one of the stars in his weight category but Mujibullo Tursunov, Aydos Tagaybayev and Adkham Mukhiddinov are also on the board in the Nationals.

Amazing stars will compete for the title at the men’s light middleweight (71kg) including the World Champion Asadkhudja Muydinkhudjayev, the two-times ASBC Asian Champion Saidjamshid Jafarov, the former World silver medallist Ikboljon Kholdarov and Andizhan’s promising Khavasbek Asadullayev.

The Youth World Champion and Asian Games bronze medallist Turabek Khabibullayev is only 19-year-old but he is the main favourite for the gold medal at the light heavyweight (80kg) where his main opponent could be Jasurbek Yuldashev. Three impressive boxers such as two World Championships bronze medallists Lazizbek Mullojonov and Madiyar Saidrakhimov, additionally the Asian Youth Champion Nusratbek Tokhirov will be aiming for the title of the heavyweight (92kg) in the Nationals.
