Only three days left until the start of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships

Only three days left until the start of the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships which will be Kazakhstan’s next exciting competition in Astana. Some of the teams are already arrived to Kazakhstan and the local boxers are also in the final stage of the preparations.

The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation informed all of the National Federations about the general instructions, the order of the Sport Entries Check and the full competition schedule of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships.

The Sport Entries Check will be taking place between 8am and 12am on October 22 after the arrivals of the delegations. The Technical Meeting, the Official Draw, and the Opening dinner all will be held still in the same day, on October 22. The first bouts will start at 12:00 on October 23 and the Grand Opening Ceremony is also on Monday.

Turkmenistan will return to the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships after nearly four years of break but their head coaches selected nearly 20 boxers to attend in Astana. Vietnam, Chinese Taipei and Jordan all will be competing with record number of boxers in Kazakhstan’s capital.

The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation hosted the Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Shymkent in 2013 and the Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar seven years ago. The city of Astana hosted the 2011 Cadet World Boxing Championships, the 2012 Asian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event, and the 2016 Women’s World Boxing Championships. Astana will be also the host of the 2024 Women’s World Boxing Championships.

The last edition of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships was held in Amman, Jordan on March 2022 where 51 champions have been crowned. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India were the best nations one and half year ago and all of them will be there in Astana with promising stars in their line-ups.
