Mongolia’s Chinzorig Baatarsukh earned his first Asian Games title

Mongolia’s Chinzorig Baatarsukh worked in the recent 10 years so hard and finally he reached the top of the podium at the Asian Games during the evening session.

Kazakhstan’s Natalia Bogdanova and Thailand’s Janjaem Suwannapheng met in a key semi-final bout today in the first bout of the evening session to decide the Olympic quota at the women’s welterweight (66kg). The 22-year-old two-time World medallist Thai opened the campaign better in the first round and she was able to keep that level until the last gong. Suwannapheng had the strength to finish the contest earlier and her RSC success was confirmed in the third round.

China’s Yang Liu and Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien Chin knew each other well enough from the previous championships. Yang Liu is a tall boxer at the women’s welterweight (66kg) and she had the skills to keep the distance in the first round in the battle of the World Champions. The 31-year-old Chinese tried to avoid Chen’s powerful attacks but the girl from Chinese Taipei caught her with heavy shots in the second. Both invested all of their powers in the third round and Yang Liu could celebrate a tight success in this semi-final.

Uzbekistan’s World and Asian Champion Abdumalik Khalokov has one of the most beautiful technical skills in the entire globe. The Uzbek featherweight (57kg) boxer followed his coach’s instruction and he did not give any chance to China’s Lu Ping in the first and second rounds. Khalokov landed his shots whenever he wanted and he qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as one of the top seeds.

Japan had several big difficulties at the men’s featherweight (57kg) in the previous championships and their Youth World Champion Reito Tsutsumi suffered injuries. Their replacement Shudai Harada is not so experienced yet but the 22-year-old boxer won his fourth contest in the Asian Games and he qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics, causing the main sensation of the day. Harada defeated Thailand’s 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist Rujakran Juntrong in a hectic bout and he earned an unexpected quota for Paris.

China’s Yang Wenlu is one of the most experienced female boxers in the national team who competed in all levels of boxing successfully in the previous eight years. Yang faced DPR Korea’s Won Un Gyong, the 2015 Junior World Champion, in the final of the women’s lightweight (60kg) today. Yang was too smart for the younger North Korean and she won the first and seconds rounds on the scorecards to take China’s third female gold medal in the Asian Games.

Mongolia’s Chinzorig Baatarsukh was a busy boxer in this Asian Games, he had only tough contests from the Round of 32 until the finals. The Mongolian light welterweight (63.5kg) boxer eliminated his main opponents during the road to the title contest and he dominated the final against Lai Chu En of Chinese Taipei. The 2021 Asian Champion Chinzorig became the third Mongolian boxer after Dorjnyambuu Otgondalai and Erdenebat Tsendbaatar who earned a boxing gold in the Asian Games. Japan’s 2021 World Champion Sewon Okazawa won the men’s light middleweight (71kg) final without any actions today. The Japanese boxer walked over to the gold as his opponent from Chinese Taipei, Kan Chia Wei was unable to fight in this session.
