The International Boxing Day celebrates today

The International Boxing Day celebrate today which date marks the start of the first edition of the World Boxing Championships. The first historic World Boxing Championships was running on that day 49 years ago in 1974 in Havana and the boxing family celebrate this milestone in the whole globe.

One of the Asian boxers, the Uzbek Rufat Riskiyev represented the Soviet Union at the 1974 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Havana and claimed the gold medal. The legendary Uzbek boxer was one of the pioneer boxers in the Central Asian boxing power in the road to be the leaders.

Dozens of the National Federations celebrate worldwide the International Boxing Day with various activities, social programs, educational projects, boxing galas, national events and specific training sessions.

All of the Asian top boxers are focusing to the upcoming Asian Games which will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23. There are 14 male and 20 female quotas for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which are available for the Asian boxers in the Chinese city.

The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation confirmed the date and the venue of the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships a few days ago. Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana will be the host of the huge competition between October 21 and November 4.
