The women’s teams from South Korea, Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan train together in Boryeong

The elite women’s national teams from South Korea, Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan train together in the city of Boryeong. Their women’s training camp support the preparation for the Asian Games which will be starting in Hangzhou on September 23.

Mr. Han Hyung Min, Mr. Han Soon Chul and Mrs. Ariane Fortin-Brochu selected the South Korean team and lead the training sessions. South Korea’s No.1 female boxer, Oh Yeon Ji (60kg) is a multiple Asian Champion and Asian Games winner who will be aiming for her next title in Hangzhou.

The 2017 Youth World Champion Im Ae Ji qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games and she moved down to the bantamweight (54kg) in the recent one year. Bak Cho Rong moved up to the light flyweight (50kg) and she progressed well enough in the previous months.

Seon Su Jin (66kg) and Seong Su Yeon (75kg) both have excellent results in the international stage and they have the chance to represent South Korea in Hangzhou. Kang Do Yeon (48kg), Jung Joo Hyeong (52kg), Jin Hye Jeong (57kg), Kim Min Jin (57kg), Kim Ga Yeon (60kg), Choi Hong Eun (70kg) and Kang Suk Young (75kg) are also involved to the joint preparation.

Twelve Kazakh girls with six coaches, one doctor and one physician arrived to South Korea for the preparation. Mr. Shamil Safiullin, their women’s head coach has a strong team, many of the boxers are medallists from World and Asian competitions.

The two-time Women’s World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay (50kg), the veteran Asian Champion Zhaina Shekerbekova (54kg), the World silver medallist Karina Ibragimova (57kg), the ASBC Asian Champion Alua Balkybekova (48kg), the promising Natalia Bogdanova (66kg) and Rimma Volosenko (60kg) are their best hopes this year.

The 19-year-old Youth World Champion Elina Bazarova (54kg), Aida Abikeyeva (63kg), Laura Yessenkeldi (63kg), Madina Nurshayeva (70kg), Fariza Sholtay (81kg) and the veteran World Champion Lazzat Kungeibayeva (+81kg) are the further participants from Kazakhstan in the joint training camp.

The female team from Chinese Taipei arrived a few days later to the international training camp with the leading of their national coaches. Huang Hsiao Wen (54kg), Lin Yu Ting (57kg), Wu Shih Yi (60kg) and Chen Nien Chin (66kg) are all world class boxers and all are aiming for Olympic spots.
