Vietnam’s Youth-Junior-Schoolboys-Schoolgirls National Championships will take place on July 11-24

The Vietnam Boxing Federation’s next competition, the Youth-Junior-Schoolboys-Schoolgirls National Championships will be taking place between July 11 and 24. Ho Chi Minh City will be the host of the upcoming Youth-Junior-Schoolboys-Schoolgirls National Championships where hundreds of talents are expected to participate.

Ho Chi Minh City was the host of the 2017 ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships which generated a big boxing development in the country. The last edition of the Vietnam Youth-Junior-Schoolboys-Schoolgirls National Championships took place in the Dak Lak province on July 2022 and 423 boxers competed for the titles.

Vietnam was No.2 in the medal standings on the 2022 Southeast Asian Games, and their boxers finished third after Thailand and the Philippines in the 2023 SEA Games. That competition was their last international appearance on May but the country prepares to the next challenges in the elite, youth and junior levels as well.

Vietnam is planning to send seven strong girls to the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships according to the information of their head coaches and hoping to get medals in Astana.

Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006, will be eligible to participate in the youth part of the competition. The 2007 and the 2008 age groups will be able to compete in the junior section of the National Championships. The 13-14-year-old talents, the members of the 2009 and 2010 age groups, will compete in the schoolboys and schoolgirls level.

Fourteen schoolgirls, fourteen schoolboys, twenty-eight juniors and twenty-seven youth boxers will earn their titles in the National Championships. The total number of the weight classes will be 83 in Ho Chi Minh City.

All of the regions of Vietnam and their main cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City are planning to send huge delegations to the Youth-Junior-Schoolboys-Schoolgirls National Championships.
