Nineteen top Mongolians participated in an international training camp in Kienbaum

The Mongolian elite national boxing team attended a joint international training camp in Kienbaum, Germany with 19 boxers and three coaches in the previous two weeks. The training camp was part of their preparations for the upcoming Asian Games which will be held in Hangzhou, China starting from September 23.

The venue of the international training camp was the Kienbaum Olympic Training Centre which is located near to the German capital, Berlin. The Mongolians sent their best female and male boxers to the training camp where they had the possibility to do sparring sessions against top Europeans. The Vice-President of the Mongolian Boxing Federation Mr. Sandag Bayasgalan supported the team’s participation in the training camp.

Several top teams participated in the international training camp, mostly Europeans including host Germany, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Latvia, Czech Republic, Belgium and others. These participating teams have been preparing for the upcoming European Games which will start in Krakow, Poland on June 22. Additionally the Cuban national boxing teams, one of the best ones in the entire world, also joined this training camp.

The training camp was the first preparation phase for the Mongolians on the road to the Asian Games and more activities will be coming soon in the next three months. Their Ulaanbaatar Box Cup was cancelled but the female and male elite teams will spend most of the time in various training camps.

The Mongolians earned medals in the previous Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships in New Delhi and also at the Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Tashkent. Their boxers are in strong progress and several of them have a realistic chance to earn spots for Paris 2024 during the Asian Games.
